New clubs, new stories: with this post we are starting a series about the partnerships that have come together at Paktum over the last few months. BSV Bern goes first. The handball club has been managing its partnerships with Paktum since the current 25/26 season, and the collaboration is set up for the long term.

For us as a team from Lucerne, this is a start on home soil. Anyone responsible for sponsorship in handball looks after partners, spaces and deliverables while the season carries on. That is exactly where Paktum should take work off BSV Bern's plate.

Key takeaways

  • BSV Bern has been working with Paktum since the 25/26 season, and the partnership is set up for the long term.

  • Together with Stefan Honegger and Daniel Althaus, we transferred data and processes and got the users familiar with the interface.

  • The shared goal is to move Swiss handball forward.

  • BSV Bern opens our series on new Paktum partnerships.

Switching systems mid-season

Moving a club onto a new system in the middle of a season is a discipline of its own. Partners expect their deliverables, home matches go ahead, and all the data has to move to a new place on the side. That is why we took plenty of time over the last few weeks, together with Stefan Honegger and Daniel Althaus:

  • Data and processes: We transferred the existing data to Paktum and mapped the workflows behind it together.

  • Rights management: We swapped experiences on how rights and deliverables can be structured sensibly in a handball club.

  • Interface: The users at BSV got to know Paktum step by step until the key tasks felt routine.

  • Personal exchange: Many questions were answered fastest in a direct conversation, and there were quite a few of them.

“Over the last few weeks we transferred data and processes with Stefan and Daniel and had an in-depth exchange on rights management. Now we want to move Swiss handball forward together,” says Patrick Laux, founder and CEO of Paktum.

What BSV now keeps in one system

Paktum brings partner management, rights management, contract management, invoicing and controlling together in one system. For a handball club, that means in day-to-day work:

  • Inventory: advertising spaces and deliverables with allocations per season, including protection against double bookings

  • The arena as a plan: assigning positions visually in the venue planner and running LED boards and digital scoreboards via playlists

  • Contracts: terms, notice periods and automatic renewals in view, barter deals included

  • Invoices: created automatically according to the payment schedule, exactly when they fall due

Which of these building blocks a club uses first depends on how it works. Our guide to sponsorship management gives an overview of all areas.

Why the series starts in Bern

Paktum is a product of KLTechnologies GmbH, based in Lucerne. Most of our customers are in Germany and Switzerland. That a Swiss handball club is opening the series is therefore particularly pleasing for us.

To mark the start of the partnership, there was a shirt reading “START 2026” with the Paktum logo. We could hardly have described the moment better: for BSV Bern, a new chapter in sponsorship begins, and for us, the work with another club in Switzerland.

The next clubs in the series

Over the coming weeks we will introduce more clubs that have started working with Paktum. Each of them experienced their onboarding in their own way, and those are the stories we want to tell. Until then, we wish BSV Bern plenty of good matches and a team with more time for its partners.
