In February, we met Steffen Franke at SPOBIS, the sports business congress. Since March, SV Grün-Weiss Schwerin has officially been a Paktum partner, making it our first club in women's handball. There is a second first as well: Schwerin is one of the first clubs to use the new player management in Paktum.

Key takeaways

  • SV Grün-Weiss Schwerin is the first Paktum club in women's handball.

  • The club is one of the first users of Paktum's player management.

  • The long-term partnership has officially been in place since March.

  • We met in February at SPOBIS, and shortly afterwards the data was integrated.

Players, rights, venue positions

Not much time passed between the first conversation at SPOBIS and the onboarding. Together with Steffen Franke and the team in Schwerin, we integrated the club's data and worked on several fronts at once:

  • Player contracts: The players' contracts are maintained in Paktum and sit in the same system as the sponsors.

  • Venue positions: The advertising positions are integrated and can be planned visually.

  • Rights catalogues: The rights the club offers its partners are stored as a catalogue.

  • Processes: We shortened some workflows and created new structures in other places.

  • Schwerin: And we explored the city. Thank you for the guided tour!

Why player contracts and sponsorship belong together

At many clubs, the squad and sponsorship are two separate worlds. Player contracts are kept in one place, partner contracts in another, and anyone who wants to keep track of both jumps back and forth between folders and spreadsheets.

With player management, the squad and player contracts sit in Paktum in the same system as partners, rights and sponsorship contracts. We are particularly pleased that a club from women's handball is one of the first to use this function.

“We met Steffen at SPOBIS in February, and shortly afterwards the data was already in Paktum. Schwerin is our first club in women's handball, and we wish the whole team all the best for the first season together with Paktum,” says Patrick Laux, founder and CEO of Paktum.

What Paktum covers for a handball club

Alongside player management, the club has access to the building blocks Paktum provides for sponsorship management:

  • Partner management: every partner with contacts, contracts and agreed deliverables in one place

  • Inventory: allocations per season with protection against double bookings, also as bundles

  • Contracts: terms, notice periods, automatic renewal and your own document templates

  • Fulfilment: documenting which deliverable was provided for which partner and when

  • Invoices: created automatically according to the payment schedule, as e-invoices in XRechnung or ZUGFeRD format where needed

For a club that is building new structures, it is an advantage when these areas are connected from the outset. That way, no new isolated solutions appear that would have to be merged again later.

Throw-off for the first season together

For Schwerin, it is the first season with Paktum, and for us the first in women's handball. We expect to learn a lot from each other along the way, especially in player management, which Schwerin is one of the first clubs to use day to day. We wish SV Grün-Weiss Schwerin all the best.
